I haven't made up my mind yet about fractional laser technology. I am not convinced it presents clear advantages compared with photodynamic therapy and superficial laser peel.

blue light for acneWe are now offering two new avant-garde treatments: blue light for acne, and photodynamic therapy, also used to treat acne, oily skin, dilated pores as well as precancerous skin lesions, skin rejuvenation, and other dermatologic problems.

We  no longer accept  the medicare card in my clinic, we are now in private practice ( opted out of medicare ).

There is a new educational section on acne and two new treatments for this condition: blue light and photodynamic therapy.

We are now offering non ablative skin photorejuvenation. (Treating wrinkles and acne scars without removing layers of skin ! )

We are now treating varicose veins by laser and/or injections. Since January 2003, we have acquired a duplex  doppler which allows us to visualize the varicose veins under the skin by ultrasound technology. We can now investigate the anatomy of the superficial venous system, localize the principal points of reflux and practice ultrasound guided sclerotherapy for the great saphenous vein and the short saphenous vein. We can now offer many patients an alternative to classical  "stripping" vein surgery.

I wrote a section concerning problems relating to laser hair removal.

Botox which is so popular for treating wrinkles now is officially approved in Canada for the treatment of excessive sweating of hands and armpits (hyperhidrosis).

There is a new topical medication for treatment of eczema (atopic dermatitis). It contains no topical corticosteroids and has no risk of thinning the skin or losing it's effectiveness over time and appears to give prolonged remissions.

Our e-mail adress is no longer available through this web site for a variety of  reasons: computer security, medico-legal, spam, inappropriate demands for medical advice etc.

A new FAQ section (frequently asked questions) should help answer the most common questions. If you do not find the answer to your specific question on my site, a personal consultation at my clinic will be necessary.
